Joy In The Journey
Do you ever feel like you are working twice as hard for half of the money? I definitely know that feeling all too often in my business. Sometimes it feels like I work and work and work the ground but so little harvest is yielded for all of the sweat. When the Lord said that man would earn his bread by the sweat of his brow all of his days, I don't think He was joking, kidding or probably even smiling :) At these times I must remind myself that the joy is in the journey. I then remember that no one I love is starving to death. Things could always be worse. While the WOLF may snarl with a foaming mouth at the door, he cannot destroy the faith of the ages that lives within the walls of my home. Then I must turn to my blessings. I love my little family. Family is where we invest our money. On paper it doesn't look like the best way to invest. With a fourteen year old daughter it sometimes leaves us feeling like we are getting little or no return :) But really, if we don't spend our money on our family, what are we gonna spend it on that matters? Junk that goes the way of all the earth "where moth and dust doth corrupt". I am thankful for the blessings of health that we have enjoyed. I pray often that such blessings continue. I am grateful that we as a family believe passionately in something. The gospel is a potent and focused outlet for my family's spiritual and emotional energy and we are blessed to have such a blessed vehicle to maximize our ability to worship, serve and love. Such a thing has not always been on the earth you know. I am thankful we have each other. I am thankful that I can get up this morning and put in a long day's work that may or may not pay off. Then, once I've counted up the blessings a bit, taking my stripes today in this big world doesn't sting quite so bad. :). Let's go get 'em people!
